PawPaw used to laugh at the plethora of artificial baits.
We would walk into the bait shop to get a few tubes of crickets or worms. I’d venture down the row of plastic baits. I’d often pick up a few of the shiniest, brightest, the most noise making rattle ones. I examined the bright colors. I’d move them to see how they shimmered in the light. I’d shake them to hear them rattle.
Then PawPaw would grin and say “Those will catch a lot of fishermen, but I don’t know how many fish they’ll catch.”
